There’s Nothing New Under the Sun

Everything is a shadow
Stretching out over this blue marble of dust
And everyday innuendo
Is calling back to a place like heaven on earth

Countless eyes keep on searching for a higher place to roam
Repartee on the airwaves
Lyrically I am beaming out my soul
Cuz somewhere beyond the ego
A shorthand for emotion
Oh I was told if I lived in the light
There would be some way or window inside

Cuz there’s nothing new under the sun
Just the shade of what once was
And we keep on running to the river
Try ‘n wash away what we have done

And run…away

All our lives left to searching
For a space between reality and a dream
There lies sweet melody
Calm and dissonant like a fire’s burning light

I believe in a moment
I believe that a moment’s never enough
If I give into the ether will I get what I’ve been after?
I was told if I played my part right
There would be some way or window beyond what is real

Cuz there’s nothing new under the sun
Just the shade of what once was
And we look on down that dusty highway
Try ‘n see how far we have come

Everyone’s dreaming of a better life
We wanna be, we gotta be somethin’ more
Staring down all of our demons for a truth that’s kept inside

Every inch every tear every word every fear, hold it dear in little places no one will go near
Every breath that you take, every moment awake, every step for the sake of having melodies to make you cry, wanna fly, look inside, tell a lie, say goodbye, realize that time is just a reason why what has been what will be, what’s been done what we see, every song that we bleed is a beast that we feed
Every inch every tear every word every fear is the meaning to heal and the freedom to feel every breath that you take, every moment awake, every step for the sake of knowing…

There’s nothing new under the sun
Just the shade of what once was
And we keep on crying to the heavens
Saying, “Oh my god there is nothing new under the sun
Just the shade of what once was.”
And we keep on movin’, yes we keep on movin’
On and on and on
